Advanced Spectroscopy Software Platform Launched
Jan 27 2006
Ocean Optics BVhas released SpectraSuite, a modular, Java-based software platform that operates on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. SpectraSuite can control multiple Ocean Optics USB spectrometers and devices, and any other manufacturer's USB instrumentation using the appropriate drivers.
All visual and functional aspects of SpectraSuite's interface, including the interface language, can be changed to create a fully branded application. For example, users can add or delete modules to create a proprietary user interface or functionality, create modules to perform calculations, or automate experiment routines.
SpectraSuite manages multiple USB spectrometers in multiple windows and provides graphical and numeric representation of spectra from each. It provides the user with advanced control of episodic data capture, such as for a fixed number of scans or for a specific interval. Initiation of each scan can be externally triggered or event-driven. The captured data is stored at speeds of up to one scan per millisecond.
